Willie B. Decker, age 81, of Park City, peacefully departed this life on Friday, June 12, 2026, at TJ Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. A native of Edmonson County, Willie was born on January 25, 1945, to the late Velzie and Beulah Lee Decker.
Willie spent many years working as a truck driver for Harlan Stice and Buttram Farms, earning the respect of those around him through his strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to do whatever needed to be done. He was a man who understood the value of hard work and lived a life marked by perseverance and dedication.
Known for his quiet nature, Willie was never one to seek the spotlight. In his younger years, he possessed a mischievous streak that brought laughter and stories that family and friends fondly remembered. As the years passed, he found contentment in life's simpler moments. He especially enjoyed relaxing in his favorite chair, watching classic westerns, and embracing the peace and comfort of home. Though a man of few words, Willie was deeply loved by those who knew him and appreciated for his gentle spirit and steady presence. He was a member of Liberty Hill “Dripping Springs” Missionary Baptist Church, and valued the traditions that were an important part of his community and upbringing.
He leaves to honor his memory— his daughter, Tracie Decker of Bowling Green; his siblings, Ronnie Decker (Julie) of Park City, Gayle Graves of Park City and Kaye Brooks (Cary) of Chalybeate; along with several beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by his siblings, Theresa Fay Crabtree, Brenda Chase, Opal Yokley, Ova, Osa, Dennie James Eddie and Charles Decker.
Memorial contributions may be made to: American Heart Association.
