Obituary

Listen to Obituary

Scotty Ray Harrison, age 86, of Lindseyville, departed this life on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Edmonson Nursing and Rehab Center in Brownsville. The Grayson County native was born on July 13, 1939 to the late Ira and Dolly Meredith Harrison. He was married to his loving wife, Doris Saltsman Harrison, who survives.

Scotty dedicated many years of his life working as a forklift operator before pursuing his own business and proudly operating Scotty’s Pool Service. He was a member of Anneta United Baptist Church, where his love for the Lord and his church family was evident in the way he lived and treated others. In his spare time, Scotty found great joy in woodworking, especially crafting birdhouses for his sister, Betty Lou, to display and sell in her flower shop, Gibson’s Florist, a simple act that reflected his generous heart and love for his family. He also had a passion for his Chevy S-10, which he enjoyed showcasing at local car shows, always taking pride in his work and the connections he made along the way. Scotty was known for his kind and gentle spirit, a man whose loving nature left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Besides his wife, Doris, he leaves to honor his memory— his children, Sharon Ewart (Gary) of Vine Grove, David Harrison (Tosh) of Louisville, Deborah Barnes (Neil) of Louisville, Mike McGrew (Helen) of Glendale, Anne Sherrard of Lindseyville and Heather Vincent (Gary) of Sweeden; seven grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; his sister, Betty Lou Gibson (Jr.) of Clarkson and several nieces and nephews who he adored. He was also preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Carolyn Gary Harrison and his siblings, Joe and Jay Harrison.

The interment will be in Anneta Church Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society.
