Roma Hogan, age 89 of Louisville, KY, departed this life with his family by his side at his residence on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. The Edmonson County native was born on September 26, 1934 to the late John Washington and Corda Lee Lindsey Hogan. He was married to his devoted wife of 65 years, Shirley Dean Blair Hogan, who survives.
Roma retired after working numerous years in the warehouse at Old Fitzgerald Distillery. He had been a member of Valley-Daylight Masonic Lodge #511 F&AM for 50 years, as well as a member of Campbell’s Chapel United Baptist Church.
Besides his wife, Shirley, he leaves to honor his memory— his children, Vickie Dean Hogan Tarrence and Eddie Hogan all of Louisville; his grandchildren, Shirlonda Rose Patton and Zachary Dean Hogan; great-grandchildren, Ja’Kobe Posey and Khyler Dean Hogan, along with his siblings, Roy Hogan, Jean Lindsey (Stanley) and Nora Frost (Walter). He was also preceded in death by his siblings, James, Leonard, Virgil, Elmer, Otha and Oliver Hogan, Oma White, Orene Sowders and Pearl Cherry, and son-in-law, James Tarrence.
Interment will be in Poplar Spring Church Cemetery.
