Robert Merideth, age 86 of Park City, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2008 in Bowling Green. He was born December 15, 1921 in Edmonson County to the late Virgle and Estella Gore Merideth. He was a retired maintenance engineer for Mammoth Cave National Park, a World War II Army Air Corp/ Air Force where he received the Asian Pacific Medal with three bronze stars, the Presidential Unit Citation and Victory Medal. He was a member of the D.A.V., a fifty year member of Park City Masonic Lodge # 934 F&AM,Cave City Chapter #252 O.E.S., a Kentucky Colonel,N.A.R.F.E. and Park City United Methodist ChurchHe was survived by his wife of 61 years Marjorie Hogan Merideth; one daughter, Treva Nell Childress (Eric) of Park City; two sons, Robert Wayne Merideth (Martha) of Jamestown, KY and Donald Dane Merideth (Janis) of Charleston, MO; three grandchildren, Dana Cox, Christopher Merideth and Jody Merideth; four step grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; ten step great grandchildren and two step great great grandchildren. Masonic service will be at 7:00 PM Wednesday at the Park City Chapel and Military service will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
