Rhonda Cummings Meredith, a beloved wife, mother, grammy, sister, aunt and friend, departed this life on Monday, September 15, 2025 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. Born on August 30, 1956, Rhonda grew up in Edmonson County with her parents, Johnny and Marcella Haycraft Cummings, where she spent her life illuminating the lives of those around her with her radiant smile and generous spirit. For forty-six wonderful years, she shared her life with her high school sweetheart and loving husband, Gary N. Meredith.
For many years, Rhonda served as the Human Resources Officer for the Bank of Edmonson County. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her commitment to helping others. Rhonda was known for her selflessness, always ready to lend a hand to those in need, often going out of her way to ensure that others felt valued and supported. It is this warmth and kindness that endeared her to colleagues and customers alike, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life! As a dedicated member of Brownsville Missionary Baptist Church, she lived out her beliefs daily. At one time, Rhonda taught Sunday School and was the church pianist, where she shared her musical gifts with all those who had the pleasure of hearing her play.
Rhonda's life was a tapestry of kindness, faith, and dedication. In her spare time, she loved cheering on the Chicago Cubs, spending peaceful days at the beach, and expressing her creativity through cross-stitching. Her greatest joy, however, was found in her family—especially her beloved son and grandson. As her son played and later coached basketball, she proudly stood as his biggest supporter, a passion she joyfully passed on to her treasured grandson. She was a constant reminder that even in the simplest acts of compassion, one can create extraordinary ripple effects in the lives of others. Her legacy will be cherished by all who had the fortune to cross paths with her.
Besides her husband, Gary, she leaves to honor her memory— her son, Brett Meredith (Heather) of Bee Spring; grandson, Jackson Bley Meredith; siblings, David Cummings (Sheila) of Bowling Green and Donna Martin (Porter) of Smiths Grove; sisters-in-law, Jill Meredith and Vicki Meredith, along with several nieces and nephews who will always cherish her memory.
Memorial contributions may be made to: American Heart Association, 9901 Linn Station Rd, Ste. 910. Louisville, KY 40223.
The interment will be in Brownsville Cemetery.
