Regina Kay Stewart, age 70, of Brownsville, peacefully departed this life with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, October 28, 2025—on what would have been her 48th wedding anniversary—at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. The Warren County native was born on March 18, 1955, to the late James E. and Joyce Pierce Wingfield. She was married to her devoted husband of forty-five years, Kenneth Edward “Kenny” Stewart.
In years past, Kay worked at Holley Carburetor, Turner Industries, and later at S&R, where she formed lasting friendships and took pride in a job well done. Yet, her most cherished title was that of mother and “Momma K.” Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she poured her love into every moment she spent with them. Kay shared an unbreakable bond with her sisters and their families, treasuring the laughter, traditions, and countless memories they created together. She also found joy in the simple pleasures—an afternoon of shopping or the comfort of a pampering session while getting her nails done. A dedicated member of Chalybeate United Baptist Church, Kay lived her faith with quiet strength and grace, having made her peace and preparations for this hour many years ago.
She leaves to honor her memory— her children, Kris Stewart and Kelli Skaggs of Brownsville; grandsons, Andre Hunter, Ethan Skaggs, Alijah Stewart and Pierce Skaggs; sisters, Janis Simon (Ricky) of Brownsville, Donna Goins (Danny) and Sherry Vincent (Hank) of Chalybeate, along with several nieces and nephews that she loved as her own. Besides her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her in-laws, Charles and Mavis Stewart.
The interment will be in Kinser Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to: Kinser Cemetery Fund, c/o LeeAnn Elmore.
