Randal “Randy” Houchin, II, age 61 of Park City, departed this life on Monday, January 19, 2026 at TJ Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. The Edmonson County native was born on August 30, 1964 to the late Randal Dean “Ronnie” and Carolyn Houchin. He was married to his loving wife, Donna Tapscott “Stick” Houchin, who survives.
Randy dedicated many years of his life to public service, working with the National Park Service at Mammoth Cave, Big Bend, Olympic and Isle Royale National Parks. After his time with the parks, he continued his strong work ethic in manufacturing at Huish, where he remained until declining health no longer allowed him to work.
Outside of his career, Randy was a man of deep interests and passions. He enjoyed collecting firearms, Star Trek memorabilia, and cast iron figures—each collection reflecting his appreciation for history, craftsmanship, and imagination. Music was another great passion in his life, and he found joy in sharing it with others, even occasionally serving as a DJ. Among all his favorite artists, Ozzy Osbourne held a special place in his heart.
Randy also gave back to his community, serving as a Boy Scout leader where he took pride in coordinating archery activities and mentoring young people. Above all else, his greatest joy and constant companions were his four miniature schnauzers, who were truly the center of his world and brought him endless love and comfort.
Besides his wife, Donna, he leaves to honor his memory— his son, Andrew Kirk Houchin (Ally) of Utah; grandchildren, Audi Elizabeth Houchin, Brynlee Nicole Floyd, Lilianna Houchin and Kyle Houchin; his sister, Starlene Bartlett of Scottsville, along with multiple cousins and extended family members.
The interment will be in Lambert Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to: The American Heart Association.
