Listen to Obituary

Phillip Ray Crews, age 79 of Park City, departed this life on Monday, November 17, 2025 at University of Louisville Jewish Hospital. The Barren County native was born on November 29, 1945 to the late Ralph and Clara Mae Bunch Crews. He was married to his devoted wife of sixty years, Dorothy “Bugs” Crews, who survives.

Phillip retired from General Motors after a dedicated career as a pipefitter. He was a man of strong Baptist faith, a proud member of UAW Local #2164, and formerly a committed member of the McLure Masonic Lodge #539 F&AM. Phillip had a gift for bringing people together, whether through his warm smile, his easy conversation, or the unforgettable meals he served from his Crews Bar-B-Q food truck—cooking for others brought him joy, and everyone who tasted his food felt like a friend. A talented musician at heart, he found peace and happiness in bluegrass music and in playing his harmonica, filling every space with the gentle melodies that reflected his spirit. Phillip never met a stranger; he loved people deeply and genuinely, and he had a special place in his heart for children. His kindness, laughter, and the way he made others feel welcomed will always be remembered.

Besides his wife, Dorothy “Bugs”, he leaves to honor his memory— his children, Tony Crews (Kaye) of Mt. Washington and Kelly Crews (Melissa) of Taylorsville; grandchildren, Allison Baugh (Nick), Jacob Crews (Morgan), Andy Crews (Nikki), Katie Crews and Bethany Pucciarello (Max); seven great-grandchildren, and siblings, Janet Crews, Judy Crews and Jeff Crews. He was also preceded in death by his son, Kevin Crews and brother, Cecil Crews.

The interment will be in Cave City Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to: Disabled American Veterans Chapter 20 Glasgow-Barren County, 1175 Cleveland Ave, Glasgow, KY 42141.
