Listen to Obituary

Penny Vincent Francis, age 50, of Louisville, passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by the love that she so freely shared throughout her life. A native of Edmonson County, Penny was born on November 4, 1975, to Phoebe Coates Vincent and Randy Vincent, Sr. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, treasured daughter, sister, and friend whose kind heart and vibrant spirit touched countless lives. She was married to her best friend and the love of her life, Jim Francis. Together they shared a beautiful partnership that spanned twenty-one years and was marked by unwavering love, laughter, friendship, and devotion.

Penny dedicated more than fifteen years of service to Kohl's, where she worked as a supervisor and formed countless friendships along the way. She was also a faithful member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, generously volunteering her time and talents whenever there was a need. Penny embraced life with enthusiasm, joy, and an open heart. She had a special love for animals, especially horses, and found great happiness in gardening, nurturing her beloved succulents and cacti, creating art, and spending time outdoors. She cherished trips to the beach, never passed up an opportunity to dress up for a special occasion, and was always eager for her next adventure. Most recently, she had been excitedly anticipating a trip to Puerto Rico and the opportunity to enjoy its beautiful beaches.

Those who knew Penny will remember her for her loving spirit, infectious sense of humor, forgiving heart, and genuine kindness. She had a remarkable gift for making others feel valued and loved. More than anything, however, Penny treasured her family. Whether cheering from the sidelines, celebrating life's milestones, offering encouragement during difficult moments, or simply showing up when she was needed, she was always there. Her greatest joy came from loving her family well and reminding them just how much they meant to her.

In addition to her husband, Jim, she leaves to cherish her memory— her three sons, Josh, James, and John Francis, all of Louisville; her parents, Phoebe Coates Vincent (Gator Bowen) of Windyville and Randy Vincent, Sr. of Chalybeate; her beloved siblings, Tammy Crawford of Chalybeate, Kathy Vincent of Bowling Green and Randy Vincent, Jr. of Chalybeate; along with several cherished nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

The interment will be in Holly Springs Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society.
