Obituary

Listen to Obituary

Nancy A. Hogan, age 87, of Mt. Washington, returned to her Heavenly Father on January 30, 2026. She was born on July 31, 1938, in the Lindseyville community of Edmonson County, in a log cabin, to the late Rev. Willie E. and Audie Browning Hogan, and was one of ten children.

Nancy was brought up in a home where she was taken to church from her youth, and most importantly she found the Lord. She was saved at the age of thirteen years old at Midway United Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a member until her death. She attended various United Baptist churches in Louisville after moving there for work. Nancy was a good and faithful employee of General Rubber Supply on Preston Highway in Louisville until she retired after forty-two years of service.

Nancy’s family was her world! She was very devoted to her family, especially her siblings, nieces and nephews. She was truly a genuine giver to people, always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Today is not goodbye, just “I will see you again!”

She leaves to honor her memory— her nephews, Rick, Rod, Faron, Lennie and James Almon Hogan, Tim Roof, Bill-Bob Lindsey and Elmer Newkirk; nieces Rita Browning, Anita West, Lisa Eszell and Ramona Coleman, as well as a host of great-nieces and great-nephews and other family and friends who will feel her loss. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Rev. Freeman Hogan, Rev. Almon Hogan, Rev. Roy Hogan, Jethro Hogan and Victor Hogan; sisters, Silver Lindsey, Tina Mae Newkirk, Christine Vincent and Chloie Roof; a dear niece, Kay Vincent, and nephews, James Harold Newkirk and Rev. Dan Hogan.

The interment will be in Midway United Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to:  Midway Church Cemetery Fund.
