Together, Joyce and Charles built a life centered around their faith, their family and their love for one another.

Joyce V. Woosley, age 88,  of Brownsville, passed peacefully from this life into the loving arms of her Lord on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at her daughter’s residence. She passed peacefully from this life, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of love and faith, with the cherished hope of one day being reunited with her beloved husband, her precious daughter, and other loved ones who have gone before her. A lifelong resident of Edmonson County, Joyce was born on November 26, 1937, to the late Wilmer and Hazel Stewart Vincent. She was blessed to share sixty-five wonderful years of marriage with her loving and devoted husband, Rev. Charles D. Woosley, until his passing on June 4, 2020. Together, Joyce and Charles built a life centered around their faith, their family and their love for one another.

Joyce spent many years working as a seamstress at Kelwood Manufacturing, where her hardworking and capable hands became part of the story of her life. She was a member of New Home General Baptist Church, where she and her family worshipped and served together for many years. Her faith was a quiet but powerful part of who she was, reflected in the way she loved others, cared for her family and lived her life. Joyce was truly one of the kindest and most gentle souls you could ever know. She had a heart of gold and a love that was genuine, selfless and pure. She never needed much to be happy—she found joy in the simple blessings of everyday life. She loved sewing, cooking, tending to her garden and getting lost in a good book, but what she treasured most was her family. She cherished every visit, every conversation, every meal shared around the table and every opportunity to make memories with those she loved. Her home was a place of warmth and comfort, and her presence brought a sense of peace.

Those left to honor Joyce’s memory and carry her love forward are— her daughters, Teresa Murphy (Keith) of Auburn, KY, and Melanie Vincent (Todd) of Brownsville; grandchildren, Christy Buckles (Mark) of Caneyville, Joseph Vincent (Ali) and Jocelyn Vincent (John), all of Brownsville; six great-grandchildren, Anna, Alayah Elizabeth, Raylan, Easton, Gavin and Teagan; her great-great-granddaughter, Josie; her brother, Barry Vincent (Pauletta) of Brownsville; along with several nieces, nephews, in-laws, and extended family members whom she loved dearly. Along with her parents and husband, Joyce was preceded in death by her beautiful daughter, Joyanna Woosley, and her siblings, Leon, Darrell, Harold, Jerry and Lonnie Vincent.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Debbie Davis for her many years of friendship, kindness and care. Her loving presence meant so much to Joyce and her family, and they are especially grateful for the comfort, compassion and support she so generously gave when they needed her most.

The interment will be in New Home Church Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest among those she loved and near the church that was such an important part of her family’s life.
