Joyce Duvall Goins, age 86 of Bee Spring, departed this life on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Edmonson Health and Rehabilitation Center in Brownsville. The Edmonson County native was born on November 6, 1938 to the late Lester and Nannie Saltsman Duvall. She was married to her loving husband, Troy Goins, until they were parted by his passing on September 27, 2020.
Joyce dedicated her life to one of the most challenging yet rewarding jobs—being a homemaker and devoted caretaker for her beloved family. She tended to her flourishing garden, skillfully canned vegetables, worked tirelessly alongside her family on their farm, and embraced her family with unwavering love. Most importantly, she was a member of Jock United Baptist Church, a place she truly cherished.
She leaves to honor her memory— her children, Denis Goins (Rose Mary), Lavonda Wingfield, Dewayne Goins and Eric Goins all of Bee Spring; seven grandchildren, Paul Goins (Whitney), Kyle Goins (Lauren), Beth Wink (Matt), Andy Goins (Brooke), Sarah Dennis (Nathan), Justin Goins (Kasey) and Seth Wingfield; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Jane LoChiero (Sam), Anthony Duvall (Bertie), Tim Duvall (Mary Lou), Tootsie Meredith (Ray) and Milan Duvall, along with nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She was also preceded in death by her son, J.W. Goins.
The interment will be in Jock Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to: Jock Cemetery Fund or the Edmonson Health and Rehabilitation Center Activity Fund.
