Joseph "Bobby" Carnes, Sr.

Joseph “Bobby” Carnes, Sr., age 86 of Bee Spring, was surrounded by his loving family at his home when he departed this life on Friday, February 16, 2024.  The Hart County native was born on December 30, 1937 to the late William Edward and Ethel Carnes.  He was married to his best friend and help mate of fifty-three years, Judy Saling Carnes, who survives. 

Bobby worked for many years as a welder for Boilermakers Union #S20.  He was a faithful member of Fairview United Baptist Church, until his health began to fail.  He truly loved his spiritual and natural families, and was the rock that their family leaned and depended upon.

Besides his wife, Judy, he leaves to honor his memory— his children, Debbie Jaggers (James) of Mammoth Cave, Bart Helson (Lynn) of Scottsville, Tony Carnes of Big Clifty, Sherry Gibson (Kevin) of Brownsville and LaDonna Houchin (Rick) of Bowling Green; twelve grandchildren, Brandon Jaggers (Jennifer), Chad Jaggers (Jacklyn), Jessica Jaggers, Joey Carnes (Lindsay), Chris Helson (Heather), Ben Helson (Danielle), Alex Helson, Wendy Bonds (Brad), Kyle Carnes (Tiffany), Brandon Carnes, Dustin Hadley (Jenna) and Gabe Clark; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; his sisters, Betty Skaggs, JoAnn Burkhead and Joyce Nibblen, along with several in-laws, nieces and nephews.  He was also preceded in death by his sons, Joseph “Bobby Joe” Carnes, Jr. and Jeffrey Allan Carnes; his step-mother that raised him, Margaret Carnes and his brothers, James, Allen and Delbert Carnes.
