Isaac Reed Hatcher, age 89, of Cave City, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 13, 2026 at Signature HealthCare of Hart County. The Barren County native was born on September 18, 1936 to the late Rev. Earl and Maymie Poynter Hatcher. He married his sweetheart, Helen Wyatt Hatcher on September 1, 1960. They were richly blessed with sixty-five years of marriage, two sons, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Isaac proudly owned and operated Hatcher and Sons Construction, where he worked side by side with his sons, Doug and Danny, until his retirement. He found great joy in simple, honest work—whether he was on his red Ford tractor, plowing his garden, or clearing snow for others. Isaac was a devoted member of Servant Valley United Baptist Church, where he once served as Sunday School Superintendent and loved his church family. More than anything, he treasured the time he spent with his family and friends, making memories that will be cherished for years to come.
Besides his wife, Helen, he leaves to honor his memory— his son, Doug Hatcher (Glenda) of Cave City; daughter-in-law, Mecie Hatcher of Horse Cave; grandchildren, Sandra Spencer (Duke), Chris Hatcher, Joyce Brooks, Martha Hawkins (A.J.) and Paul Ray Hatcher; great-grandchildren, Tina Brooks and James Hatcher; siblings, Paul Hatcher and Margie Wilson; brothers-in-law, Gary Wyatt and Bruce Wyatt (Vonda), along with several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his son, Danny Ray Hatcher; siblings, Frances Sturgeon, Walter, Basil, David, Merrold, Stanley and Harrold Hatcher and in-laws, Anley and Alma Wyatt.
The interment will be in Cave City Cemetery.
