Haskell Lane, Sr

Haskell E. Lane, Sr., age 88 of Sweeden, passed away Friday, May 4, 2007 at his residence, the Metcalfe county native was born March 9, 1919 to the late Eugene Edward Lane and Alverta Asbury Lane and married to Nelda Wood Lane. He was a retired from the Air Force and served in World War II, Korean War and Vietnam. He was a member of Washington Meredith Masonic Lodge # 355 F&AM, Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church and Nisbet Alexander Memorial Post # 6937 VFW. He is survived by his wife Nelda Wood Lane of Sweeden, three grandaughters, Teresa L. Edmonds of Bowling Green, Virginia Lane of Newnan, GA and Melanie Sue Lane of Lexington and eight great grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by one son, Haskell "Gene" Lane, Jr.. Services will be officiated by Bro. Essie Hayes with burial in the Sweeden Church cemetery.
