Listen to Obituary

Freddie Ray Logsdon, age 74 of Wingfield, departed this life on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green. The Edmonson County native was born on July 14, 1951 to the late Raymond Earl and Lillie Mae Glass Logsdon. He was married to his loving wife of fifty-two years, Vickie Jo Logsdon, until they were parted by her passing on August 14, 2022.

Freddie retired from Berry Plastics after more than twenty years of dedicated service as a technician, a role in which he poured both skill and pride into his work. Over the years, he also worked with Firestone, drove a bus for the Edmonson County School District—always greeting the children with a friendly smile—and owned and operated Logsdon’s Sawmill, a place where his strong work ethic and love for hands-on craftsmanship truly shined.

Freddie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was a member of Fairview United Baptist Church. He looked forward to his annual spring fishing trip to Kentucky Lake, a tradition that brought him peace and happiness year after year. He also loved sharing Chinese meals with his sister, Linda, canning the fresh fruits and vegetables from his garden, and savoring a warm cup of coffee on his deck as he took in the stillness of the day. Above all, he treasured every moment spent with his family, who were the heart of his world.

He leaves to honor his memory— his sons, David Logsdon (Misti) and Russell Logsdon, all of Wingfield; grandchildren, Matthew Logsdon (Taylor), Kiann White, Emily Logsdon (Darryn Hamilton), Tanner Logsdon and Lexi Logsdon; great-grandchildren, Walker, Lorelei and Holden Hamilton; honorary daughters, Jeanne Bullock (Brad) and Debbie Doyle (Darren); sisters, Virginia Hawks (Ronell) and Linda Lillard; his best friend and fur baby, Thor, along with several nieces and nephews who loved and cared for him. Besides his wife, Vickie Jo and parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Avery and Shelia Logsdon, and brother-in-law, Randy Lillard.

A private service will be scheduled.

Memorial contributions may be made to: Pleasant Grove “Miller Hill” Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
