Esther McCubbin Sanders

Esther McCubbin Sanders, age 92 of Cave City, gained her angel wings on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green. The Barren County native was born on May 15, 1933 to the late Charlie and Martha Thompson McCubbin. She was married to her husband of thirty-seven years, the late Robert “Bob” Sanders.

Esther dedicated forty-two faithful years as a machine operator with National Seating, where her hard work and dependability earned the respect of everyone who knew her. Yet her greatest and most cherished role was that of a caregiver—lovingly tending to her family with the same devotion and steady hands that guided her through life. She was a proud member of Cedar Springs United Baptist Church, where she often stood to testify and give heartfelt praise to God for her salvation. Esther’s deepest desire was for her loved ones to know the peace and joy she found in Jesus, so that one day her family could be reunited with her in Heaven, rejoicing together through the endless ages.

She leaves to honor her memory— her children, Patricia Cooper (Randy), Gary Sanders, and Robbie Sanders (Alta), all of Cave City; son-in-law, Jimmy Parnell of Columbia; twelve grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and twenty-three great-great-grandchildren, with a few more on the way; a special niece, Charolotte Melloan, along with a host of other family members and friends. Besides her husband, Robert, she was also preceded in death by two children, Rebecca Parnell and Michael Boston; daughter-in-law, Donna Sanders; two grandchildren, Adam Isbell and Ginger Boston; one great-grandson, Andrew Cowan, and her four brothers, Paul, Carl, Charles, and Claude McCubbin.

The interment will be in Horse Cave Cemetery.
