Donnie Meredith, age 48, of Smiths Grove, departed this life on Friday, November 21, 2025 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. The Edmonson County native was born on August 28, 1977 to Cindy Johnson and the late James Loyd Meredith.
Donnie gave his heart to the Lord as a young boy on November 11, 1988, at Snap Missionary Baptist Church—a moment he carried with him for the rest of his life. He was later baptized into Bee Spring Missionary Baptist Church, where he remained a member until the Lord called him home. His desire was for all of his friends and family to have that same experience of salvation that he had. In 1997, Donnie faced a life-altering accident. Yet, with God’s grace and a strength that amazed even the physicians, he rose above every expectation. He continued to live a full, meaningful life with a warm heart, a giving spirit, and a steady devotion to his faith, family, and community. He served his community through the Kyrock Volunteer Fire Department and worked as a dispatcher for The Medical Center EMS, offering calm and reassuring support during moments when others needed it most.
Donnie was blessed with remarkable artistic talent. He found joy in woodworking and drawing, creating pieces that reflected both his skill and his gentle, thoughtful nature. Over the years, he also used his skills as a draftsman with Tekno and FedEx, applying his sharp mind and attention to detail in every task he took on. Outside of his creative pursuits, he was an enthusiastic Green Bay Packers and NASCAR fan—always ready to cheer on his favorite team and drivers with genuine excitement.
Besides his loving mother and caregiver, Cindy, he leaves to honor his memory— his sister, Jamie Flora of Roundhill; fiancee’, Angela Keen of Scottsville; step-children, Samantha Kent (Jonathan), Zack Wix and Garrett Keen; four step-grandchildren, along with his nephews and niece, Justin Boyd (Angela), Jeffery Flora (Kaleigh) and Jasmine Flora. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Eddie and Agnes Wolfe, Donald Ray and Martha Meredith and nephew, Danny Boyd.
The interment will be in Bee Spring Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to: Bee Spring Church Cemetery Fund.
