The little girl who once knelt at an altar and felt a burden lifted grew into a woman who spent her life helping others carry theirs.

Donna Barbee-Hall, age 68, of Bowling Green, was peacefully called to her heavenly home on Thursday, October 1, 2026. She was born on October 2, 1957, in Brownsville, Kentucky, to the late Rev. Belvy Barbee and Bonnie Crump Barbee, who survives. She was married to her loving and devoted husband, Frank Hall, on July 29, 2003, who stood by her through sickness and in health.

Donna was a woman of deep faith whose relationship with the Lord began at a young age. During a revival at Fairview General Baptist Church preached by Rev. Cody Johnson, she knelt at the altar and gave her heart to the Lord. She always treasured the memory of rising from that altar with the feeling that a great burden had been lifted and a heart full of love for everybody. That experience remained a beautiful part of her testimony throughout her life.

A woman of determination and many talents, Donna owned Donna’s Ceramics & Crafts and later co-founded BS Advertising with her dear friend, Sherry Ross. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Family Studies from Western Kentucky University in 1997, followed by a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2010. She went on to work in counseling, where her compassion, wisdom, and genuine concern for others allowed her to touch many lives. The little girl who once knelt at an altar and felt a burden lifted grew into a woman who spent her life helping others carry theirs.

Donna was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend. She was a faithful wife and devoted helpmate to her husband, Frank, standing beside him with love and support throughout their marriage. Her family was among her greatest blessings, and she cherished the time they shared. She leaves to honor her memory— her husband, Frank Hall; her children, Chesney Davidson Decker (Brian) of Bowling Green and Clay Davidson (Christa) of Bee Spring; her stepson, Ryan Hall; her precious mother, Bonnie Crump Barbee; and her grandchildren, William Noah Davidson, Zienna Lynn Hall, Anna Claire Davidson and Christian Parker Shanahan; brothers, Jeff Barbee (Theresa) and Chuck Barbee (Carolyn), along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

The interment will be in Brownsville Cemetery.

Frank extends his heartfelt gratitude to Chesney and Brian Decker, Tommy VanMeter, Rhonda Jones, and the staff of Hospice KY for their love, compassion, and faithful support throughout Donna’s illness. Memorial contributions may be made to: Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
