Diane Wells, a beloved wife, mother, Meme, and treasured friend, peacefully departed this life on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Signature HealthCare of Hart County. A native of Hart County, Diane was born on February 25, 1949, to the late Oscar Russell and Nona Constant Whitlow. She shared nearly sixty-one wonderful years of marriage with the love of her life, high school sweetheart, best friend, and devoted caregiver, Charles Wells, who lovingly remained by her side, in sickness and in health, throughout life's journey.

Diane dedicated many years of faithful service to the Commonwealth of Kentucky as a driver's test administrator, a role she carried out with professionalism, kindness, and integrity. In recognition of her service and contributions, she was honored with a commission as a Kentucky Colonel. Diane was a longtime member of Temple Baptist Church and loved the Lord with all her heart. Her faith was an important part of her life and provided comfort and encouragement through both joyful times and life's challenges.

Diane embraced life's blessings with a grateful heart, finding happiness in the people, memories, and treasures she held dear. She enjoyed collecting antiques, beautiful glassware, and jewelry, always appreciating the stories and beauty found in special treasures. She was an excellent cook who delighted in preparing meals for those she loved, and some of her happiest moments were spent gathered around the table with family. Above all else, Diane's greatest joy was her family. As "Meme," she held a special place in the hearts of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, showering them with unconditional love, encouragement, and countless cherished memories.

Besides her husband, Charles, she leaves to cherish her memory— her children, Danny Wells (Karen) of Bowling Green, Mike Wells of Cave City, and Dana Alexander (Terry) of Smiths Grove; her beloved grandchildren, Jessica Wells, Mandi Dunn (Tyler), Brandi Long (Eric), Michaela Hayter (Trestin), Ashlyn Wells, Erica Luckett (Sam), Abby Carpenter (Blake), and Daren Alexander; ten treasured great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and dear friends who were blessed to know and love her.

Memorial contributions may be made to: Kentucky State Police Trooper Island Camp, 919 Versailles Road, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.
