Obituary

Listen to Obituary

Diane “Myrtle” Stewart, age 69, of Cave City, peacefully departed this life on Friday, July 17, 2026, at TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. A native of Barren County, Diane was born on April 10, 1957, to the late Jack and Mary Crabtree Jameson. She shared forty-three wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband and best friend, Barry Stewart, who survives.

Diane was a dedicated and hardworking woman whose strong work ethic and caring spirit touched everyone who knew her. She was employed as a bookkeeper with Campbell, Myers & Rutledge. Prior to that, she faithfully served Park Mammoth Resort for twenty-seven years, where she worked her way to becoming general manager. She took great pride in her work, always giving her best and leading with kindness, dedication, and integrity.

She was someone who enjoyed staying active and making the most of each day. Diane loved taking walks, exercising, hunting for bargains while couponing and shopping, and cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats. She never missed an opportunity to enjoy Dancing With the Stars, and she found happiness in life's simple pleasures. Above all else, Diane treasured her family. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her children and grandchildren, whose lives were forever enriched by her love, encouragement, and unwavering support. She was a member of Park City United Methodist Church, and she treasured her church family.

Besides her beloved husband, Barry, she leaves to cherish her memory— her children, Crystal Jackson (Corey) and Tyler Stewart (Courtney), all of Glasgow and adoring grandchildren, Griffin Jackson, Keegan Jackson, Willow Stewart, and Charlie Stewart, each of whom held a special place in her heart, along with her mother-in-law, Shirley Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Hack Jameson.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in Diane's memory.
