Dean Houchin Madison, age 92, of Bowling Green, peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. An Edmonson County native, Dean was born on November 23, 1933, to the late William Nelson and Lou Clark Houchin. She shared a beautiful forty-year marriage with the love of her life, Kelley H. Madison, until they were separated by his passing on October 14, 1995. Their marriage was one built on love, faithfulness, and mutual devotion, and the memories they created together remained close to Dean's heart throughout the years.
Blessed to be a homemaker, Dean poured her heart into caring for her home and husband. She found great joy tending to her garden, where her nurturing spirit blossomed as beautifully as the flowers she lovingly cultivated. Nothing brought her greater happiness than opening her home to those she loved. Whether family gathered for a meal, a visit on the porch, or simply to spend time together, Dean treasured every conversation, every laugh, and every precious memory made with those closest to her.
Known for her warm heart and spirited personality, Dean had a delightful feisty streak that endeared her to everyone who knew her. She never met a stranger and loved to talk, visit, and share stories. Her genuine interest in others, and welcoming smile made people feel right at home in her presence.
She leaves to cherish her memory— her beloved sister, Yvonne VanMeter of Bowling Green, along with several devoted nieces and nephews who were such a blessing in Dean’s life. In addition to her loving husband and parents, she was welcomed into heaven by her precious infant triplets; her brothers, Rumsey, Mack, Truman, and Charlie Houchin; and her sisters, Mary Houchin, Chlorene Houchin, and Jewel Patrick.
