Darrell Webb, age 74, of Brownsville, departed this life on Monday, August 10, 2026, surrounded by his family and the people he cherished most. Born on October 20, 1951, Darrell was a lifelong Edmonson County native and the son of the late William “Hoover” and Pearl Webb. Edmonson County was not simply the place he called home—it was where his roots ran deep, where he grew up, raised his family, worked, worshipped, and made many of the memories that became the story of his life.

Darrell was saved as a young boy in the quiet surroundings of his family home, and he united with Mt. Zion United Baptist Church. His faith was never simply something he talked about; when he was praying and serving the Lord, he did so with a sincerity and devotion that were evident to those around him. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War era. Upon returning home, Darrell began working at Brownsville Manufacturing before eventually putting his talents and hardworking nature into a business of his own. As a painter, he traveled throughout surrounding communities, leaving behind not only beautifully painted homes and buildings, but also a reputation for being dependable, honest, and committed to doing a good job. Later, he had the joy of working alongside his beloved son, Fielden, at Webb and Son Painting. Father and son made a good team, and together they became known for their reliability, integrity, and dedication to every person who trusted them with their work.

Darrell also knew how to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. In his younger years, he loved searching the countryside for Indian artifacts and arrowheads, taking great interest in the history and treasures hidden beneath the ground. Later, his love for the outdoors led him to become an avid bass fisherman. Some of his fondest memories were made on the water with his brothers, Ronnie and Brent, sharing the kind of time together that becomes treasured long after the fishing poles are put away. Darrell's greatest treasures, however, were found in his family. He and Debbie Denham shared many years of their lives together. Although their lives eventually took different paths, the bond they shared never truly disappeared. They remained close friends, connected by the love they had for one another, their children, and their family. Debbie remained a special part of Darrell's life through his final days, lovingly serving as his caretaker and being by his side when he needed her most.

He leaves to honor his memory— his beloved, Debbie Denham of Chalybeate; his cherished daughters, Cheri Lindsey (Jayson) of Bee Spring and Amy Minyard of Elizabethtown; his grandsons, Zachary Lindsey, Daniel Minyard (BreAnna), Carter Minyard (Kaitlyn Meredith), and Levi Tucker; and his great-grandchildren, Hadley, Harper, Harlow, and Hayden Minyard, and his siblings, Brent Webb (Regina), Regina Forbes, and Norine Childress (Johnny), along with nephews, nieces and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Fielden Thomas Webb, and his brother, Ronnie Webb—two losses that left an empty place in his heart and whose memories remained a cherished part of his life.
