Clara Bewley Napier

Clara Bewley Napier, age 82 of Bowling Green, peacefully departed this life on Friday, March 22, 2024 at her residence.  The Edmonson County native was born on July 9, 1941 to the late Wilbert and Millie Gipson Bewley.  She was married to her devoted and loving husband, M.A. Napier, who survives.  

Clara worked for many years as a housewife, and in the cafeteria at Warren East High School. She was a faithful member of Chalybeate United Baptist Church, until recent months when her health began to fail.  Clara was a wonderful, Christian example for others to follow.  She loved the Lord, and her church family beyond measure.  She lived a Godly life, and was always willing to help her neighbors, family and friends bear their burdens. 

Besides her husband, M.A., she leaves to honor her memory— her children, Shelia Sullivan (Dennis) of Bowling Green and James Napier of Chalybeate; five grandchildren, Jennifer Vincent (Jeremy), David Sullivan (Angela), Amber Webb (Chris), Dustan Napier and Cassie Larson; four great-grandchildren, Colton, Lillie and Easton Webb and Hannah Vincent; two brothers, James “Tinker” Bewley and Ralph Bewley (Linda), along with several nieces and nephews.  She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Sonja Napier and siblings, John Bewley, Zula Cowles, Hazel Wilson, Rev. Ossie Bewley, Mary Bryant and Mae Doss.  

Interment will be in Kinser Cemetery.
