After a century of life well lived, Cecelia Furlong Arterburn, of Park City, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the age of 100, surrounded by the love and memories of family and friends whose lives she enriched. She was born on May 22, 1925, in what is now known as Mammoth Cave National Park, to the late Arthur and Lola Mae Whittle Furlong. In addition to her work there, she was a dedicated partner to her husband on their farm, where her careful attention and meticulous record-keeping helped keep everything running smoothly. Above all, Cecelia will be remembered as a caring, strong, intelligent, and loving wife, mother, and proud Mimi who treasured her family. She was a woman of Christian faith.
Those left to cherish her memory include— her daughters, Gail Broady (Gary) of Franklin and Kim Burks (Teddy) of Park City; her grandchildren, Beth Broady (fiancé, AJ Schifferli), Tyler Burks, and Megan Sneed (Andrew); her beloved great-granddaughter, Adalynn Sneed, along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ophelia Furlong, and her stepmother, Elizabeth Morgan Furlong.
Memorial contributions may be made to: Park City Volunteer Fire Department, Park City Masonic Lodge #934 F&AM, or a charity of your choice.
