Carol McMullen, age 79, of Brownsville, departed this life on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY. The Edmonson County native was born on August 10, 1946 to the late Paul and Laura Herald Sanders.
Carol once worked as a dedicated purchasing agent for Hill Motley, where she was known for her strong work ethic and attention to detail. After her time there, she found her true calling as a caregiver, devoting herself to serving others with compassion and kindness. She lovingly provided care, comfort, and companionship to senior citizens in need, touching countless lives with her gentle spirit and nurturing heart.
Outside of her work, Carol found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She adored her cats, who brought her much comfort and companionship. She cherished quiet, beautiful days spent sitting on her front porch, where laughter and conversation were shared with family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling with her senior group, making precious memories along the way. Carol was a member of Glen Lily Baptist Church, where her love for the Lord and her church family was evident. Her life was a reflection of grace, kindness, and selfless love, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She leaves to honor her memory— her son, Joseph Moran (Angela) of Brownsville; grandchildren, Mallory Moran (David Taylor) of Hadley, Cody Moran (Tyler) of Alvaton and Andrew Wells (Chelsey Sturgeon) of Bowling Green; great-grandchildren, Ava Taylor, Dash Taylor, Riley Moran and several other grandchildren and great– grandchildren; her sisters, Regina Shields and Susan Waldrop, along with several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Donnie Moran and sister, Kay Whitson.
