Obituary

Listen to Obituary

Bobby Wayne Saylors, age 85, of Smiths Grove, peacefully fell asleep in this life on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, with the blessed assurance that he would awaken with the Lord in heaven. A native of Allen County, Bobby was born on May 8, 1941, to the late Thurman and Nellie Saylors. On Valentine's Day, February 14, 1959, he married the love of his life and devoted best friend, Barbara Jean Saylors. Together they shared sixty-seven beautiful years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and unwavering love until the Lord called her home on February 3, 2026. Their enduring love story was a testament to commitment, devotion, and God's blessings.

Bobby was a hardworking and dependable man who took great pride in providing for his family. As the owner and operator of Saylors Golf Carts for many years, he earned the respect of countless friends and customers through his honesty, integrity, and strong work ethic. Even beyond his business, Bobby rarely slowed down. He found genuine joy in working on his farm, tending his garden, and embracing the simple blessings of country life. Some of his happiest moments were spent beside his grandsons, lending a helping hand with farm work, sharing his knowledge, and creating memories that will be treasured for generations. Above all, Bobby cherished the time he spent surrounded by his family. Whether gathered around the table or simply enjoying one another's company, those moments meant the world to him.

Bobby's greatest foundation was his faith. Saved in his youth, he remained steadfast in his Christian walk throughout his life. He was a member of Hanging Fork Baptist Church and, in later years, found great joy in worshipping with his church family at Fairview Memorial Baptist Church, until declining health no longer allowed him to attend. Bobby lived his faith through quiet acts of kindness, humility, and service. He will be remembered as a good neighbor who was always willing to lend a helping hand, a loving father and grandfather who led by example, and a faithful Christian whose life reflected compassion, generosity, and unwavering devotion to the Lord.

He leaves to honor his memory— his loving daughter and devoted caretaker, Pam Sneed (Jeff) of Glasgow; grandchildren, Monica Ausbrooks (Duran), Allison Fisackerly (Chris), Amanda Cowan (Caleb), Seth Sneed (Maggy), and Jacob Sneed (Whitley); his adored great-grandchildren, Jackson Ausbrooks, Baker Cowan, Banks Cowan, Flint Sneed, Saylor Sneed, and Stella Dean Sneed; his sister, Follis Saylors Perdue; sister-in-law, Peggy Saylors; his compassionate caregivers, Vickie Burkhard, Sydney Abernathy, Hannah Smith, and Lisa Geralds of Hadley Home Care, whose kindness and dedicated care brought comfort during his final years; treasured neighbors and dear friends, Ziff Reed and family, Carl and Judy Fishburn, Kenneth and Shirley Fant and family, and Levi and Cora Gingerich and family; along with a host of extended family members and friends who were blessed to know him. In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Saylors; granddaughter, Brandy Nicole Ferrell; and his siblings, Lassie Carver, Flossie Carter, Novene Wood, Murl Saylors, and Gary Saylors.
