Bobby Cowles, age 85, of Louisville, KY, departed this life on Friday, April 3, 2026 at Jewish Hospital. The Edmonson County native was born on May 3, 1940 to the late Geneva and Tandy Denham Cowles. He was married to his loving and devoted wife of sixty-five years, Jeanetta Lou Campbell Cowles.

Bobby retired after many years of dedicated service at National Bedding Company, where he was known for his strong work ethic and steady, dependable nature. Yet, more than any title or accomplishment, it was Bobby’s unwavering faith that truly defined his life. His relationship with the Lord was not only something he professed, but something he lived out daily—in his words, his actions, and the way he loved others. As a devoted member and deacon of Campbell’s Chapel United Baptist Church, Bobby served with a humble and willing heart. He found great purpose in the work of the church, whether it was supporting his pastor, encouraging fellow members, or simply being present whenever there was a need. His faith was his foundation, his strength, and his guide, and he took great comfort in the promises of God throughout his life. Beyond his service to the Lord, Bobby found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. He loved working in his garden, where he could reflect and find peace, and he treasured the time he spent with his family—loving them with the same steady, faithful heart that he carried in his walk with Christ.

Besides his wife, Jeanetta, he leaves to honor his memory— his children, Kenny Cowles (Donna) and Vicki Nichols-Noland (Keith), all of Louisville; grandchildren, Amy Cowles, Dustin Cowles, Cierra Cowles, and Austin Nichols (Chelsie); eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Richard Cowles (Pat), Mark Cowles, and Elizabeth Cowles.

The interment will be in Oak Grove Church Cemetery, Brownsville, KY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oak Grove Cemetery Fund or Campbell's Chapel United Baptist Church.
