Barbara Jean Saylors, age 83 of Smiths Grove, peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at NHC HealthCare in Glasgow, KY. The Barren County native was born on August 14, 1942 to the late Romie Jewell and Nancy Mae Jones Caplinger. She was married to her loving and devoted husband of sixty-seven years, Bobby Wayne Saylors, who survives.
Barbara worked faithfully alongside her husband, Bobby, as they owned and operated Saylors Golf Carts for many years. Together, they built far more than a business—they built lasting relationships rooted in kindness, honesty, and genuine care for everyone they served. Through their work, Barbara formed many lifelong friendships and cherished acquaintances.
She was saved at the age of sixteen at Lawrence Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Barren County and later became a member of Hanging Fork Baptist Church. In recent years, she and Bobby attended Fairview Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, remaining strong in their faith until their declining health no longer allowed them to attend. In her everyday life, Barbara took great delight in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed going to town, having a good meal, and shopping at Dillards. However, nothing brought her more joy than spending cherished time with her beloved family, that she was so proud of.
Besides her husband, Bobby, she leaves to honor her memory— her daughter, Pam and Jeff Sneed of Glasgow; grandchildren, Monica and Duran Ausbrooks, Allison and Chris Fisackerly, Amanda and Caleb Cowan, Seth and Maggy Sneed and Jacob and Whitley Sneed; great-grandchildren, Jackson Ausbrooks, Baker Cowan, Banks Cowan, Flint Sneed, Saylor Sneed and Stella Dean Sneed and sisters-in-law, Follis Saylors Perdue and Peggy Saylors. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Saylors; granddaughter, Brandy Nicole Ferrell and sisters, Mary Jane Caplinger and Novice Caplinger Meeks.
