Barbara J. Claywell

Barbara J. Claywell, age 74, of Glasgow, departed this life on Monday, November 3, 2025 at her residence. The Cumberland County native was born on June 27, 1951 to the late Jim and Bonnie Booher Claywell.

After many dedicated years working on the assembly line at 3A Composite, Barbara finally embraced her well-earned retirement. Known for her kindness and gentle spirit, she found great joy in caring for the elderly, always offering comfort and companionship to those around her. At home, her love extended to her beloved pets, who brought her endless happiness and laughter. In life’s quieter moments, nothing delighted her more than enjoying her favorite snack cakes—especially the festive holiday ones that brought a smile to her face every season.

She leaves to honor her memory— her children, Foran Meredith, Jr. and Marlene Wood (Roger), all of Glasgow; grandson, Drew Wood; great-grandson, Trenton Wood, and siblings, Wanda Elmore, Larry Claywell (Debbie), Robbie Ernest (William) and Billy Claywell (Sharon). Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Lola Pierce, Jane Campbell, L.C. Claywell, Jimmy Claywell and David Claywell.
