1918 - 2016

Violet Cannon, age 97, of Wingfield, departed this life on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 in Bowling Green.  The Edmonson County native was born on August 6, 1918 to the late Rev. Elza Elmore and Mona Brooks Elmore and was married to the late Robert S. Cannon, Sr.

She cared for her family as a homemaker, and was also a member of Wingfield United Baptist Church.

She leaves to honor her memory--  three sons, Wilmer Sherrill Cannon, Sr. (Lavern) of Chalybeate; Bobby Cannon (Faye) and Glen Cannon (Betty) all of Wingfield; one daughter Judy Hawks (H.G.) of Wingfield; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lanada Cannon and a grandson, Chris Cannon.

Internment will be in Wingfield Church Cemetery.
